I've been reading a book on prayer. Isn't it odd how when we need something big like a life saved, a new job or something like that. We go straight to the big man! But, for normal day to day stuff, most people put praying off. Almost like homework in High School. It reminds me of when I was a kid, eating my vegetables at the dinner table. They were the last thing on my plate, my father would tell me to eat them so I would grow up big and strong. That's just like prayer, I want to do it earlier in the day, but many times put it off till bedtime. I know if I want my spiritual life to get big and strong I need to pray more.
I know what I'll do! I'll pray about praying more!! Now if I could just find time to pray. He he he.

I try to remind myself of the importance of prayer every day. I have a poem - I think it's called the difference - in the first stanza, "I had so many things to do, I didn't take time to pray." In the last stanza, "I had so many things to do, I had to take time to pray." Anyway, I try to hang a copy of the poem in a place where I will see it every morning.
Since I work at the parish office, I also have the bonus that if I arrive early I can spend quiet time with Jesus truly present in the Blessed Sacrament.

I've heard that poem as well. It is so true. We need to go before our Lord daily for strength. He tells us that His yoke is easy and His burden is light and in todays world, we need and easy yoke and light burden because ours is all too often heavy and difficult. He wants to trade, yet we don't go and ask. I always feel better when I pray in the morning. I am glad to go before my Lord daily and spend time in His prescence. I also think that as Christians, we should spend more time in prayer together.
Amen kev.
